Developing the proper habits is a vital aspect of any fitness program, and following a solid bodybuilding eating plan is no different. Get the answers to the top 10 questions now!

Q: How many calories should I be eating daily if I plan on bodybuilding?

A: The number of calories you should be eating varies by body size. As a general rule of thumb, when you're just starting out, you should eat somewhere between 2,500 to 3,000 calories daily. Make sure that your eating plan includes protein, fat, carbohydrates and plenty of water.

Q: How much protein should be included in a bodybuilding eating plan?

A: Multiply your total body weight by 1.2 to get the total grams of protein you need to eat in a day. You should divide this amount equally between your meals and snacks throughout the day. Protein sources should include lean meats (such as chicken and turkey) and white fish. Post protein workout shakes should be the only liquid sources of protein throughout the day. If you do choose to include protein supplements no more than half of your daily protein should come from supplemental sources.

Q: When I am bodybuilding how much carbohydrate do I need to include in my eating plan?

A: Multiply your lean body mass (your fat free body weight, not your total body weight) by 0.8 to get the amount of carbohydrates you should be eating in a day. These should be divided between your major meals. Carbohydrates should also be included post workout.

Q: How much fat (and what types of fats) should I plan on eating when I am bodybuilding?

A: About 25% of your calories should come from fat. This isn't to say you should increase the amounts of harmful fats in your diet. Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are needed when your bodybuilding. These include omega three and omega six. A good way to make sure you get your EFAs is to include flax seeds, flax oil, are flax meal in your diet. Another good source of EFAs is fish. Fish oil supplements can be taken to increase your EFAs.

Q: Should soy be a part of my bodybuilding eating plan?

A: No. Women often include soy in their diet to raise their body's estrogen levels naturally. When estrogen levels rise, testosterone levels decrease. Since testosterone is a body builders best friend, it's in your best interest to reduce your soy intake as much as possible while you're trying to increase your muscle mass.

Q: How large of meals and snacks should I be eating when I plan to concentrate on bodybuilding?

A: You should eat something every 2 to 3 hours while you are awake. Instead of trying to eat 3 and meals a day it's important to bring that up to between 5 to 7 smaller daily meals. This gets your body's metabolism up and feeds your muscles so there able to continually repair themselves.

Q: Do I have to avoid alcohol when I'm bodybuilding?

A: Yes. When you are bodybuilding it's important to decrease the amounts of alcohol you consume, if not completely cut it out of your diet. Alcohol can negatively affect your testosterone levels.

Q: When considering my bodybuilding eating plan what types of carbohydrates should I include?

A: Nutrient dense whole grains fruits and vegetables should be a part of your healthy eating plan when you are bodybuilding. Candy bars, soda pop, and other empty calories should not be a part of your eating plan.

Q: Why should I eat cruciferous vegetables when I'm bodybuilding?

A: Cruciferous vegetables have many important health benefits. One of the benefits of cruciferous vegetables is they suppress the amounts of estrogen in your system. Suppressing the amount of the estrogen in your system increases the amount of testosterone in your system. Testosterone is a natural bodybuilding enhancer.

Q: What should my post workout snack include?

A: Post workout snacks need to include protein and a high glycemic carbohydrate. The reason you include a high glycemic carbohydrate is to get the protein into your system as quickly as possible. Do not include fats in your post workout snack. Fats will slow the absorption of protein and carbohydrates.

How to Lose 20 Pounds in 2 Weeks

lot of people want to lose weight fast for an event such as a wedding, a reunion or a party. If you find yourself wishing that you were 20 pounds slimmer but don't have a lot of time in which to pull it off, read this article without skipping a single word because I shall review 2 ways in which you can lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks.
If you want to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks you can do it in 2 ways:

1. Go on a juice based detox diet. This kind of diet cleanses your body of toxins and undigested food while providing you with carbs and sugars. Although this diet isn't suitable for a long duration, as a "crash" diet meant to help you lose a lot of weight in a short period of time, it can be extremely effective.

2. It you like working out and can spare the time, you can lose 20 pounds by doing a lot of cardiovascular activity over two weeks. I suggest doing 1 hour aerobic workout for 5 days on each of the 2 weeks. You can jog, power walk, cycle, swim or whatever you like. It you want to play basketball, tennis or take some aerobic classes, that's fine too.

Don't do massive workouts and go on a juice diet simultaneously. If your chose to burn off 20 pounds by exercising you'll need your strength. Reduce the amount of carbs that you consume but eat a lot of vegetables, fruit and protein. Make sure that all your fats are healthy ones like olive oil and canola oil.
Losing 20 Lbs in 2 weeks isn't the easiest thing in the world but if you believe in yourself and are willing to put in a little effort, I'm positive the you can do it.

Makeup Tips

1. Never leave your house WITHOUT applying mascara! It brightens up your eyes, and diminishes the sleepy or tired look.

2. Do not underestimate the power of a bronzer or blush. Purchasing a skin-enhancing bronzer will brighten up your face, and define your bone structure. I recommend the MAC bronzing powder (BB8); it does not have [an] excess shimmer to it, which can make your face look a little muddy or uneven. Also, for a bit of color try a creme or powder blush. If you are looking for a more dewy look, apply a creme blush with your fingers or a sponge. Smile, and dab it onto the apples of your cheeks. For round faces, apply bronzer underneath your blush, right below the apples of your cheeks. This will make a more rounded face look amazing and well defined! Don't forget to add a touch to the places where the sun hits your face such as your nose, jaw bones, and your temples!
3. Invest in a great night moisturizer. At night, your skin makes natural oils that condition your skin. Combine this process with an excellent moisturizer and you will wake up with soft, supple skin every morning. I strongly suggest purchasing OLAY Regenerist Night Recovery cream. This will start hydrating your skin within an hour, with its amino acid formula. You will see the difference in your skin each morning, but don't forget to also invest in a day cream! A day cream will provide protection from the sun and it's a great base for your makeup.

4. Refrain from other lip moisturizers such as chapstick, and use only Vaseline; you won't need to reapply as often. Make sure you moisturize your lips every night so they are rejuvenated in the morning, and are ready for some lipstick!

5. A little foundation goes a long way! Dab a dime size or less and apply with a sponge or just use your hands. Don't underestimate your fingers -- they are great makeup tools! If you have red or blotchy skin, apply loose powder with a big fluffy brush, over the foundation. This will minimize the production of oil and conceal redness.

6. Do not overdo the concealer! If you have dark circles, make sure you take a touch of concealer and use your pointer finger or a concealer brush to lightly pat the darkness away. To conceal redness, use a light green concealer or use a yellow-based concealer to blend away dark circles. Make sure you use only a little to neutralize your skin. If you use a lot, you will look "cakey" and it WILL show, especially in pictures.

7. For night time looks, apply a small amount of loose shimmer to your temples, cheek bones, and collar bones. I suggest MAC Mineralize Skin Finish. This is very light and has just the right amount of shimmer to brighten up your face for the night! Also for a dramatic effect, smudge some eyeliner on your top lids, be sure to wing it out at the end, this will give you a sexy look!

8. Don't be afraid to apply some color to your lips! If you have light/pale skin, try a nude or peachy lipstick or a lip gloss with a touch of shimmer. If you have tan/medium/dark skin tone, try a mauve, peach, brown, or even a light pink. If you are feeling very daring, try a bright red! For a luscious effect, purchase two shades of red, one lighter then the other. Apply the darker one first then apply the lighter shade to the center of your lips. For a fuller effect, apply lip gloss over your lipstick. Do not forget to line your lips, it makes a big difference!

9. Exfoliating is very important! Using a gentle exfoliating scrub once a week, such as St. Ives Apricot scrub, this will remove all of the dead cells on your face which can leave your skin feeling flaky. This will leave your skin feeling fresh, soft, and ready for makeup!

10. Don't forget to smile and show off your teeth! You can try gentle teeth whiteners such as pre-brushing whitening mouth wash. Also, use toothpaste that has whitening agents in it; it will promote good dental hygiene as well as give you an eccentric smile!
